Crest of Light

Hikari's crest is the crest of light. Light is symbolized by various things, but usually referred to the innocence, purity, and good-willed conscious of the human mind as opposed to the vile, corrupted, and negative force considered as darkness. As Hikari is young and a virgin, she symbolizes those qualities and is bestowed with the crest.

Her crest has the color pink. Though light is more for white/yellow, pink is closer as it is a lighter version of red, which symbolizes passion, similar to Sora's crest of love. Pink is also considered a color for babies, those uncorrupted newborns. Plus, Takeru already holds the color yellow, and it would kill the rainbow feeling if both of them had the same color.

The crests are dogtags that hold a power that each represent. These good qualities all affect how the digimon partners reach the Perfect evolution (Ultimate). Also, their crest identifies who the Digimon's partner is. In season 2, the new evolution line of Armor and Hybrid types are also affected by the crests.

However, the crests themselves are more representatives than anything else. It is concluded with the end of season 1, when Hikari's crest is shattered by Apocalymon, that the crest is truly inside their hearts. With this knowledge, she doesn't give up the fight to save her world.
